Meet the Founders
Mason Mello
Co-founder Mason Mello, a native of Saratoga’s West Side, worked for over 2 years to bring Reef to life in September, 2024. Mason is passionate about cannabis and brings extensive management experience from his time at various local establishments. His deep roots in the community and commitment to providing a positive cannabis experience for all of our customers drives our mission. He loves talking about cannabis and, when not working, can often be found with his wife Monica watching their talented sons play sports. Mason and his co-founder Joe first met and formed a lasting friendship while working together at Dine Restaurant on Henry Street in the 2000s. Their shared vision and commitment to excellence and customer service have shaped Reef Cannabis Dispensary into the unique destination it is today.
Joe Moen
Co-Founder Joe Moen grew up in Saratoga Springs’ Geyser Crest neighborhood and is an attorney licensed in New York, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. In addition to a successful litigation practice, Joe is a veteran cannabis industry lawyer with over 10 years of experience advising companies on a wide range of matters affecting cannabis business operations, including representation of the first medical and adult use licensees in New York, Massachusetts, and many other states. While Joe now lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, he maintains an office in Saratoga Springs and enjoys visiting many of his friends and family in Saratoga County.
